How can we help?
WhirledPiece is new, and we welcome your questions, ideas, and range feedback. Start with the guided tour, find a fix below, or send a suggestion.
Photo scoring
Use Score a photo on the website or Score Target on iPhone. Choose a clear full-target image, accept the photo-retention notice and inspect the result. On the website, Adjust marks opens the settings and editor when you need them.
Which photos can I choose?
The website accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, TIFF, AVIF, GIF and BMP images, subject to successful decoding. Choose one photo per target; animated or multi-image formats are used as a still image. Files must be no larger than 40 MiB and 100 megapixels. Camera RAW files are not supported.
Keep the printed rings in frame; WP-1 also needs its four corner markers. Avoid severe motion blur, glare and deep shadows. On iPhone the system photo picker can make a supported image available from your library.
A normalized JPEG is used for scoring and retention. This is not an archive of your original file, its full resolution or camera metadata. Image-decoder licenses and source notices are available.
The file opens, but the rings or holes are wrong
Open Adjust marks, select the actual target type and check the caliber. For B-2 or B-3, use Fit printed rings and inspect the provisional orange overlay. Adjust alignment manually if needed. B-8 / B-6 and B-16 have manual alignment; B-27 is not a supported scoring profile.
For B-2/B-3, Use proposed marks imports possible impacts as editable suggestions; it does not confirm their accuracy. Add missing holes, move misplaced centers and delete false marks. Hide marks / Show marks lets you inspect the paper beneath the overlay. Undo reverses editing mistakes. If the image is unusable, choose another photo; a recognition failure does not itself delete an already retained photo.
The score is visible, but saving or uploading failed
Analysis, photo upload and saving a score have separate statuses. A visible score alone does not mean your account history has been updated. Keep the page open, reconnect and use the offered retry action. Check uploaded photos as well as My scores.
Do not clear browser data or switch accounts while a photo or score is queued. If browser storage is unavailable, keep the original photo and use the available download action for the marked result. A server cannot retain an image that never reached it. Send the exact save message, browser and time if retries continue to fail.
The file cannot be opened or is too large
Use the reason shown next to the upload control. A corrupt file, unsupported encoding or an excessive image can still fail before a usable photo is stored. Keep the original, export a JPEG or PNG copy or reduce its dimensions, then choose that copy. Do not repeatedly retake a good photo to fix an account or network error.
How should I handle expected rounds and misses?
Calculated misses start with expected rounds minus marked rounds, including overlaps. Ten expected and eight marked suggests two misses. Check for overlooked holes first; this calculation cannot prove where the remaining rounds went.
Enter a different miss count if necessary, or leave the expected count unknown. Use calculated misses resumes the automatic suggestion. Saved human-confirmed misses stay confirmed until edited; pending drafts need your review. Only add an overlap when you have evidence of another round through that opening.
Paper scoring is a practice aid. Check caliber, near-line calls, connected tears and double holes before treating a result as accurate.
Find and keep your history
My score or uploaded photo is missing
Check that you are using the same account as the phone or browser that created it. My scores and Target Scores contain saved results. Review uploaded photos also includes retained attempts with no completed score. A local-only or queued image may still need to upload.
Refresh after a successful save. If a private photo asks you to sign in again, use the same account and return to that result. Include its link in feedback if access still fails; the link itself does not make your photo public.
I started as a browser guest. How do I use my existing account?
In the same browser, open Keep my photos. Prepare the pending photos first, then use Continue with Apple to link or claim them into a new or existing account. For another sign-in method, prepare first, choose Sign in instead and return to finish the claim.
Wait for completion and check the destination history before clearing site data. The handoff preserves target photos and their labels; it does not merge unrelated audio/session accounts. If you already lost the original browser identity, contact support with the upload time and any saved result links.
How do I connect my phone sessions to the website?
On the phone use Settings → Link Account, then sign into the website with that same Apple or email identity. Phone email linking uses an email link. A different account will have different private history. If you already have separate populated accounts, contact support rather than assuming signing out merges them.
How do I remove a photo or my account?
Use a saved target's delete action to remove the associated target evidence. To delete the account, use the account-deletion control in iPhone Settings. Contact support if your retained photo has no available owner delete action or you cannot access that account.
Deleting a mark is an editable correction with Undo; deleting the target or account is a separate data-removal action. Clearing browser data removes local access and pending work, not server photos. See the privacy policy.
Make a useful correction
For sound, distinguish My shot, Other shooter and Reject as non-shot. A real neighboring shot is not a false sound. Listen around the event before moving or labeling it; add missing shots at their audible onset. Exclude a recording that cannot be labeled reliably.
For paper, check every visible hole, alignment and caliber before Finish review. A matching round count or assistant draft is not human confirmation. Save for later or Skip keeps an unclear photo available. Known misses and overlapping rounds require your judgment.
The website's model overlays preserve your edits. Select Your labels (editable) to resume marking. Audio Model proposals needs an available compatible replay worker; missing replay availability does not mean the original recording was lost.

Time a string
- Open Shot Timer on iPhone and set countdown or Random Start and Par Time in Settings.
- Tap the large timer face. The phone prepares the microphone, counts down and sounds GO.
- Stop ends the string; a nonzero par time ends it automatically.
- Replay and check the shots, or use Edit shots to correct them. With Review Every Session disabled, open Session History later.
Timing and local review work without a network. An up-arrow History badge means audio is queued for upload. Check synchronization before removing local data.
Hands-free start
Say “Siri, WhirledPiece, go” or choose Start Shot Timer from Apple Shortcuts. Siri may ask for initial confirmation. The phone timer shortcut and the Watch's visit-level workout are separate controls.
Try it without recording
Main Menu → Sample Session plays a bundled five-shot recording without a microphone, account or network. Its orange read-only banner distinguishes it from your real history. It cannot be edited and is not used for model training.
Apple Watch
Start one Range Training Workout for the visit. On iPhone choose Shot Timer → Start Range Training Workout → Indoor or Outdoor → Apple Watch. Or open the Watch app and choose Start Training directly. Look for Range Training Workout Ready before shooting normal phone-timer strings.
The Watch is not ready, or no recoil appeared
Open the Watch app directly, check its Ready state, and keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. If Health permission is unavailable, continue without Apple Health. The phone timer works without a Watch.
Recoil supports review; absence of a wrist match does not prove a sound was another shooter's. It does not change the phone's timestamp or delete a detection.
How do I finish the workout?
Use the active workout control when leaving. Choose Save to Apple Health or Discard Workout for a Health workout. An in-app-only visit uses Finish Range Training. Stop Capture on Watch only stops that string's recoil collection; it does not end the visit or stop the phone timer.
Health heart-rate, energy and workout records stay in Apple Health and are not used for detector training. Read the Watch guide.
Other quick fixes
The timer missed a shot or added an extra one
Review the recording first. On iPhone enter Edit shots, long-press empty waveform to add a missing shot or use the marker menu to reject a non-shot. Use Other shooter for a real neighboring shot. On the website the selected-event controls offer the corresponding labels and time nudges.
Check the model that actually ran, not only the selected next-session model. Candidate v2 and Original confidence numbers are not interchangeable. Send a corrected session example rather than changing advanced thresholds at random.
Audio is still queued, or Siri did not start
For queued audio, reconnect and refresh History. If the badge persists, report the session time and app build. For Siri, try Start Shot Timer directly from Shortcuts and check the system's Siri/locked-device settings.
A save says another revision changed
Another device or reviewer has saved a newer version. Keep a note or screenshot of any unsaved corrections, reopen the current record and reapply only what is still needed. The conflict protects newer labels from being silently overwritten.
Share feedback or a suggestion
Tell us what you would like to see next: another target, a simpler control, or a feature that would help at your range. A short suggestion is enough. If something went wrong, the details below can help us investigate.
Use iPhone Settings → Send Feedback, the signed-in website Feedback form, or email info@whirledpiece.ai. Include a reply email if you want a response.
A useful report includes
- Session/target link or date and time.
- What you did, what you expected, what happened and the exact error.
- Device, app build or browser, and the actual model shown.
- For sound: event time, own/other/non-shot, indoor/outdoor and relevant phone placement.
- For paper: target type, caliber, troublesome location and whether the problem is alignment, holes, overlaps or scoring.
- Whether it repeats, and any observed lag, heat or save retries during that action.
Correct the saved example when possible, and say what remains uncertain. Inspect diagnostic logs before sharing them. Do not repeat live fire to document a software problem. Your reviewed recordings and target photos help us train and test future models. We test those updates before release, and your suggestions help guide the next round of improvements.
