WhirledPiece brings a shot timer, photo scoring, and practice history together. It is for competitive and recreational shooters who want to keep their times and targets and return to them as they improve. It is available now on the App Store, free for iPhone and iPad.
We’re new, and there is more to build. Your range experience, corrections, and suggestions help us decide what needs attention and what to add next.
Time your strings. Score your targets.
Start the timer by tap or Siri. Choose a fixed or random delay, set a par time, and save your first-shot time and splits with the recording. If the timer misses a shot or picks up a neighboring shooter, replay the string and correct it.
Photograph a WP-1 or supported NRA target, review the shot marks, and save the score. New B-2 and B-3 support fits the printed rings and suggests holes for you to check. B-8 / B-6 and B-16 are available with manual alignment and marking. Photo scoring also works in your browser.
Apple Watch is optional. A Range Training Workout can cover the whole visit, with GO haptics and available workout metrics. The phone still supplies the shot timing.
A history you can use
Your saved recordings, first-shot times, splits, target photos, scores, and corrections give you a record of your practice. Revisit an older target, compare strings, or use the web dashboard’s range visits and timing trends to see how your shooting has changed.
Use Settings → Link Account on iPhone, then sign in with that same account on the web. Browser guests can use Keep my photos to keep their target history on other devices. The account guide walks through both.
Your input helps us improve
A shot you add, an echo you remove, or a target mark you correct helps show us what the app missed. Reviewed recordings and photos can become examples for training and testing future machine-learning models. Different ranges, lighting, and paper targets help us find problems we would otherwise miss.
We develop and test model updates before releasing them. Your corrections improve your saved record now and help inform that ongoing work. The app does not retrain itself during a string.
Suggestions matter too. Tell us about a target you’d like supported, a screen that is confusing, or a feature that would be useful at your range. Send feedback or an idea.
Getting started
Try Sample Session in the app before your next visit. It plays a bundled five-shot recording so you can explore the times and review controls without using the microphone or creating a history entry. You can also print a free WP-1 to try photo scoring.
The timer can miss shots or pick up extra sounds, and target suggestions need your review. Use the recording and photograph to check the result. Target scoring is a practice aid and does not replace match officials.
Free, with clear data use
WhirledPiece is free. Saved recordings and target photos stay in your private account, and they and your corrections may be used to train and evaluate future models. We do not sell your data or use it for ads. Apple Health data is excluded from model training. You can delete your account and associated data in the app. See the privacy policy for details.
